The Fast Company Innovation Festival is a multi-day annual conference that brings together thought leaders from technology, design, fashion, education, healthcare and so forth. We were tasked with creating a Facebook Messenger Chatbot experience for conference attendees to access information related to the festival, such as details on specific talks, speakers and venues.
As Work & Co's first venture into the world of Chatbots and AI, this project was particularly challenging in terms of setting up an efficient design process. Other challenges included defining the bot persona, setting up its scope of intelligence and creating guided, linear conversation flows that could also handle non-linear conversational inputs.
As Lead User Experience Designer, my role encompassed researching and becoming a subject matter expert on chatbots, design strategy, writing use cases, logic and scripts for the bot and quality insurance.
